Re-elect Bruce Campbell for County Chair

DONATE                ENDORSE

I am a 6th-generation Texan. My ancestors, whose name was Fritze, came to the Republic of Texas in 1845 and then to Fredericksburg on Founders Day in 1846 with their five children. I wrote about their story in the December 31 issue of The Fredericksburg Standard.
I was born in Amarillo, went to high school in Houston, and received a BBA in Management from Texas A&M. My wife, Megg, and I are members of the Bridge Church in Fredericksburg. We have two grown children.

Megg and I lived in Katy, Texas, for 35 years, where I was a high school teacher, and she ran a hospital laboratory. We were married in 1983, and at the next election, the Republican election judge invited me to a meeting at his house. He said he would have some candidates there and BBQ. I went to that meeting. I met some judge candidates and Republican neighbors. He asked if I wanted to work as a clerk at the next election. I said yes, and I have been involved ever since.
I have served as the County Chair of the Gillespie County Republican Party for 1.5 terms. Before that, I was a precinct chair in Harris County for 21 years and a member of the State Republican Executive Committee for three terms. I had the honor of being the only delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2024 from Gillespie County.

We bought our house here in 2014. We moved here full-time in June of 2020. I attended the county party meeting that summer as a member of the public. I volunteered to be the fundraising chair, and I brought the Lincoln Reagan Dinner to Gillespie County as a way to fundraise for the party. I have been a part of all four Lincoln-Reagan Dinners, raising almost $100,000 for the county party’s “Get Out the Vote” efforts.
My goal in my first term was to stop the trend of our county being less red in elections. We did that in the 2024 election, where we were redder than in previous elections. We have sent mailings and texts to Republican voters, encouraging them to vote, which is the number one job of a county party. I ask for your vote for another term as your county chair to help keep Gillespie County Red.

I ask for your vote in the March 3 Republican Primary.

True the Vote
When True the Vote began, Catherine Engelbrecht contacted the Harris County Republican Party, and I was sent to train the late Alan Vera on how to stop voter fraud. They were just getting into it. We produced videos that were used to train volunteer election workers. Of course, True the Vote became the leading experts in election integrity and their research was the basis for Dinesh D’Souza’s movie 2000 Mules.
